Business Letter

•Business letter is a formal way of communicating between two or more parties. There are several different common types of business letter. They are letter of order, request, application, and recommendation.

2nd and 3rd conditional sentences

Conditional Clause and Main Clause

If I have enough money, conditional clause	I will go to Japan.     main clause
I will go to Japan, main clause	if I have enough money     conditional clause

First, Second, and Third Conditional

1. First conditional:	If I have enough money, I will go to Japan.
2. Second conditional:	If I had enough money, I would go to Japan.
3. Third conditional:	If I had had enough money, I would have gone to Japan.

What is Explanation?

1. 1.      Definition and purposes of Explanation

Explanation is a text which tells processes relating to forming of natural, social, scientific and cultural phenomena. Explanation text is to say ‘why’ and ‘how’ of the forming of the phenomena. It is often found in science, geography and history text books.

Complaining and Giving Instruction

  COMPLAINING

Complaints are expressions of "displeasure or annoyance" in response to an action that is seen by the speaker as unfavorable.

•Blaming : when someone said that person did a mistake that should be her/his responsibility, like choosing wrong way.

•Blaming is an expression that is used to say on somebody the responsibility for something done (badly or wrongly) or not done: He blamed his teacher for his failure.

Direct and Indirect Sentences

Direct Speech / Quoted Speech

Saying exactly what someone has said is called direct speech (sometimes called quoted speech)
Here what a person says appears within quotation marks ("...") and should be word for word.
For example:
She said, "Today's lesson is on presentations."
or
"Today's lesson is on presentations," she said.

Contrastive Conjunction

Mr. Jack : What is the result of the OSIS meeting?

Edward  : A few members want an indirect election in choosing the new OSIS chairperson, Sir. However, most members want a direct election.

Mr. Jack : OK. I’ll discuss that later, with the other teachers.

The sentences in bold contrasts two ideas. It uses a contrastive conjunction (however). Contrastive conjunctions are used to link two ideas or statements that are considered to be different. The following are some contrastive conjunctions :

1.     But, still, yet, although, though, even though, whereas, while

These conjunctions combine two clauses which are/opposite/contrast one to another. Examples :

·         Donny is short, but he is strong.

·         Although Bella is an artist, she doesn’t ignore her studies.

·         Mr. David is rich, yet he is unhappy.

ASKING ABOUT POSSIBILITIES, CURIOSITY, DESIRE

Asking about Possibilities

•       Would it be possible for (somebody) to …?

•       Do you think it’s possible that ... ?

•       What possibility is there that ... ?

•       Is there any possibility that ... ?

•       What's the possibility of ... ?

Narrative text is a text which contains about story (fiction/non fiction/tales/folktales/fables/myths/epic) and its plot consists of climax of the story (complication) then followed by the resolution.

The narrative text short story is telling of a story or an account of a sequence of events. One of the four traditional forms of composition (along with description, exposition, and persuasion). Narration differs from exposition, which can also relate a sequence of events, in that narration need not be factual and may be written from the perspective of a character in the text.

DISSCUSSION TEXT

Diskusi ternyata juga merupakan salah satu jenis teks, yaitu Discussion Text . langsung aja liat apa itu discussion text.

Discussion is a text which present a problematic discourse. This problem will be discussed from different viewpoints. Discussion is commonly found in philosophical, historic, and social text.

In XII Grade, you will learn about Passive Voice again . I think , Passive voice is still the one of difficult items . But, I hope you will enjoying this item

ADMITTING MISTAKES & MAKING PROMISES

Pernah ga sih merasa bersalah pada orang lain, dan mau minta maaf pada orang tersebut? Itulah salah satu pengertian dari apa itu yang disebut Admitting Mistakes . Mungkin masih banyak orang yang merasa susah ataupun takut untuk meminta maaf . Mungkin takut untuk dibilang Looser atau seorang pecundang . Tapi sebenarnya orang-orang yang berani untuk mengakui kesalahannya itu adalah seorang yang LUAR BIASA, hehe .  Nah, kalau sudah minta maaf, terkadang seseorang diminta untuk berjanji untuk tidak mengulangi kesalahan lagi, itu yang kita sebut sebagai Making Promises .

 Persuading, encouraging, and preventing someone are the part of expressions . so, this is the important way to show our expressions to other people .
